"Carabids in extreme environments"

Dear friends!

It is a great pleasure to announce that the 19th European Carabidologists' Meeting (19ECM) will take place in the Dolomites, UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Meeting will be organized by the “Parco Naturale Paneveggio - Pale di San Martino” in the town of Fiera di Primiero, Italy.

Please save the date! The 19ECM will be the 16th-20th of September 2019.

The ECMs are scientific meetings where researchers from Europe and other countries informally discuss about the main topics of ecology, biogeography, evolution, with a common background on carabid beetles.

Carabidae as model organisms focused the discussion of several researchers in 1969, when they met in Wijster (The Netherlands), giving rise to the tradition of the European Carabidologists' Meetings.

Since then a lot of people joined the carabidologists "family", producing sound science, not confined to carabids' study.

The journey is going on, and 50 years after the start, the next stop (the 19th) will be in Italy, where you are warmly invited to join the crew.
